Ferris Bueller's Day Off 1986

(Ferris Bueller's Day Off 1986 - opening scene)

In today's class, we were introduced to one of the cult films " Ferris Bueller's Day Off " Written and directed by John Hughes who is also known for works such as "Planes, Trains & automobiles" ( 1987) and "The Breakfast Club" (1985). Movie was  produced by Paramount pictures.(IMDB)  "Paramount Pictures, In full Paramount Pictures Corporation, one of the first and most successful of the Hollywood film studios. It became a subsidiary of viacom in 1994" (Britannica).

Ferris Bueller's day off in my opinion is ultimate lazy Sunday afternoon movie, sending nothing but good emotions. Matthew Broderick who was nominated for the Golden Globe award in 1987  for the best performance by any actor in motion picture ( Golden Globes)
delivers fun, intreaging and all rounded character to life, making us feel like we could be in he's shoes in a blink of an eye, we want to be. ''How can I possibly be expected to handle school in a day like this" (Ferris Bueller's Day off) Ferris says while breaking fourth wall ,which is an imaginary wall that's separates the story from the real world. This term comes from the theatre, where the three surroundingwalls enclose the stage while an invisible ''4th wall'' is left out for the sake of the viewer. I think most of the kids at schools and universities can relate to Ferris, I know I can.

Its a easy to watch movie although it hits every spot it has to. I think looking towards my work I could learn how to make it easier to digest without losing quality. Its grabbing and easy to fallow although it does not require deep level of concentration I could not imagine shifting my attention somewhere else while watching this movie and this is what i would like to have in my work.

  1. This is not research - you were asked to research this film and discuss with your own opinion backed up by evidence. You need then to discus this in relation to your own work - what did you learn from this? How can you apply this to your own work? As an English student you should be looking at the narrative an dhow they have used words and conversation in this clip
