Introduction to my set essay.



Besides our major project, we have another task. Just like the last term, it's a case study. As a media student with a pathway to the English Language, I decided to analyze Coolio's song, 'Gangsta's Paradise. I will talk about structure, form, meter, rhyme, and meaning within the lyrics of the song.

Research and development of my project.

 For my media project, I so far managed to write a first draft of the story. The plot takes place in a small village and circles around the protagonist named Tom whose father just died. The story timeline takes place within a couple of days and consists of three parts; death, wake, and funeral.  First of all one of the things I want to try with this story is using leitmotiv. I researched Susan Bell's book 'The artful edit (2008). Bell suggests searching out thematic symbols and gingerly sew them into a coherent, barely visible pattern. Laid in with a light touch, leitmotiv can act like a refrain that keeps bringing the reader back to your central theme. As for my story, I'm thinking to use the leitmotiv of a bottle cap that once screwed on the bottle would represent the end of a certain period within the character, perhaps a change. Critically evaluating my website

  Planning stage: What were your initial ideas for creating a website? style/name/template - My initial ideas choosing style, name, and template was to make my website look professional and represent my academic pathway to literature. Do you have tagline on your website? - I also created a tagline for my website. Research: Which designers/ artist (relevant to your continuation route) websites did you look for inspiration? - I looked at couple of websites to get inspired one of them was by Neil Gaiman and James Patterson. How many pages did you want to make on your website and why? did that change as you progressed onto the research/designing stage?
